TOP 10

Here is a list of my 10 favorite authors             from 2015-2016

01

Juliet Marillier

I dig Juliet Marillier because of her fantastical, yet grown up way of bringing fairy tales to life.

02

Tamora Pierce

Tamora Pierce is one of my great loves. She inspires young women to be brave and heroic, and not to stay within the conformity that surrounds the word "woman".

03

John Green

I adore John Green's writing. His confusing yet enthralling plot lines are always an escape from reality. I hanker for him to write more books.

04

Charlotte Brontë

I eat up Charlotte Brontë's work. Her old fashioned style of writing is rare to find these days, and is a delectable treat!

05

Garth Nix

I drink in Garth Nix's wonderful and dark stories. He mixes fantasy, horror, and romance into books that are hard to put down.

06

J.R.R. Tolkien

Tolkien is an oddball. His idiosyncratic plotlines and outlandish worlds are totally off the wall. His writings hold a certain darkness pertaining to this world.

07

Elizabeth Goudge

Elizabeth Goudge is a quaint writer. Her work varies in nature, from children's stories to romance. Her romances have an old fashioned proper-ness about them that catches the eye without being grotesque or degrading to women.

08

J.K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling manages to fit all the conformities around the lore of witches and wizardry, and yet her writing is fresh and amusing. She adds things for the heck of it.

09

Donald Samson

Donald Samson was a third grade Waldorf teacher when he wrote his first book. It has a certain child-like roundness to its theme, yet has real pain and misery in the story.

10

Madeleine L'Engle

Madeleine L'Engle's novels are fishy. Some of them I enjoy immensely, and others I take issue with. Reading a book I have never read by her is always taking a chance. Sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worst.
